Nebby Nezzer, better known as Mr. Nezzer, is a major character of VeggieTales.
Mr. Nezzer is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Background[]
Mr. Nezzer made his debut in Rack, Shack & Benny as "Nebby K. Nezzer" (an allusion to Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon) the owner of a chocolate bunny factory who creates an idol that he wants everyone to worship. In The Toy That Saved Christmas, Mr. Nezzer plays Nebby's brother "Wally P. Nezzer", again with side-kick and chief trouble-maker Mr. Lunt. In The Star of Christmas and An Easter Carol, he is "Ebenezer Nezzer" (an allusion to Ebenezer Scrooge) who owns a theatre and an Easter egg factory respectively. In addition to his roles, Mr. Nezzer usually appears as the leader in VeggieTales videos such as his role as the King Xerxes of Persia character in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen, Olaf the lead Viking in Lyle the Kindly Viking, and the Mayor of Dodgeball City in The Ballad of Little Joe and Moe and the Big Exit.
Physical Appearance[]
He is a middle-aged green zucchini with white hair and often wears a tie.
Trivia[]
- He doesn't appears in VeggieTales in the House and VeggieTales in the City.
- He just an actor in the series, not actually a villain. His first performance in "Rack, Shack, and Benny" that he portrays as a villainous character Nebby K. Nezzer, whose name is a pun on Nebuchadnezzar, an ancient king of Babylon known for his role in the Old Testament.
- When The VeggieTales Show was put into production, as Phil managed to reprise most of his Veggie character roles, he was originally going to reprise Mr. Nezzer as well (judging by the trailer for The Best Christmas Gift), but managed not to for that character because he felt that his voice was not working out well for an African-American character since Phil himself is naturally Caucasian. It is confirmed that David Mann will assume the role of Mr. Nezzer for the new show.
